ECI has uploaded the details of electoral bonds deposited by SBI on the website

Latest News :- Following the Supreme Court order, SBI Bank submitted details of electoral bonds issued between April 2019 and February 15, 2019 to the Election Commission last Tuesday. The Supreme Court had directed that the Election Commission should upload these details on its website by March 15. In this matter, the Election Commission has uploaded the information about election bonds on its website yesterday.

The first of the two files uploaded contains details of the names and amounts of companies that have purchased electoral bonds. The second file also contains the names of those parties who converted electoral bonds into cash. Companies buying electoral bonds include Sun Pharma, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Auto, Airtel, Pramal Capital and Housing Finance.

BJP, Congress, DMK, AIADMK, Trinamool Congress, Aam Aadmi Party and Shiv Sena are in the list of parties that converted their electoral bonds into cash. In this regard, SBI Bank filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court yesterday. It reads, “A total of 22,217 election papers have been issued from April 2019 to February 15, 2024.” Of these, 22,030 bonds have been deposited in the accounts of political parties. The remaining amount of 187 bonds has been deposited in the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.
