Close the cylinder immediately
If you feel that gas is leaking from the cylinder, then you should immediately take some important steps. If gas leaks, immediately close the cylinder, so that gas leaking can be prevented. During this time, do not touch any kind of switch, do not try to switch on the light at all.
Enable ventilation: If possible, open the windows of the room and let air in. By doing this the gas level in the kitchen will reduce and ventilation will be maintained. Besides, the possibility of any major danger due to fire will also be reduced.
Do not use fire: Avoid lighting the stove in case of gas leakage, if you try to light the gas stove with a lighter then the fire may reach the cylinder. That means stay away from anything that is related to fire.
If the gas has spread too much or the cylinder has caught fire from somewhere, then try to extinguish it with a wet sack or blanket. Apart from this, you can also call police or fire brigade for help. If possible, immediately move to a safe place and first try to save your life and that of your family members.
