DUSU Elections 2026: ABVP, NSUI, AISA-SFI Name Panels For September 18 Delhi University Polls

Delhi University’s DUSU election battle is set for September 18, with ABVP, NSUI and the AISA-SFI alliance announcing candidates for the four central posts. Seven candidates are contesting for president, while voting will be held in day and evening shifts, with counting on September 19.

New Delhi: All major student organisations on Friday announced their candidates for the central panel of the upcoming Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections, setting the stage for the September 18 contest for the four key posts.

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) fielded Yash Dabas as its presidential candidate against the National Students' Union of India (NSUI)'s Vijay Shankar Meena and the All India Students' Association (AISA) and Students' Federation of India's (SFI) joint candidate Ananya Raturi.

ABVP has nominated Ishu Maurya for vice-president, Riya Chhawadi for secretary and Lakshya Raj Singh for joint secretary.

Dabas, who is from Kanjhawala in Delhi, is currently pursuing a master's from the Department of Buddhist Studies of Delhi University. He is an international-level tennis player and has participated in ITF competitions in Spain, Australia and Serbia, besides representing the DU at university-level competitions, the RSS-affiliated student organisation said on Friday.
