Lucknow, Read: Players of Lucknow Montessori Inter College performed brilliantly in the District Secondary School Boxing Competition organized in the boxing hall of KD Singh Babu Stadium. Many players of the school displayed their talent by winning gold medals in the competitions held in different age and weight categories.

Boys and girls players of Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 age groups took part in the competition. The competition was inaugurated by Assistant District School Inspector (English) Ram Sujan Mishra. Players from 20 schools of Lucknow participated in it.

Lucknow Montessori's dominance in Under-14

In the 28-30 kg weight category of Under-14 boys category, Haider Ullah of Lucknow Montessori won the gold medal, while Shivansh of St. Mary's got the silver medal. Tej Pratap of Lucknow Montessori in 30-32 kg and Mohammad Zaid in 32-34 kg won their respective matches and won gold medals.

St. Mary's Mohammad Ahman Khan was the winner in 34-36 kg and Faraz Naqi was the winner in 36-38 kg. Anurag Verma won gold medal in 40-42 kg, Ansh Kuril of St. Mary's in 44-46 kg and Atharva Rai of Sai Public Inter College won gold medal in 48-50 kg.

Players showed strength in Under-17 also

In the Under-17 boys category, Fayaz Ahmed of Lucknow Montessori won the gold in 46 kg weight category. Daksh Gopal of Abhilasha Inter College became the winner in 46-48 kg, Karan Patel of Arvind Bal Vidya Mandir in 48-50 kg and Rehan Sidiq of St. Mary's in 50-52 kg.

Faizan Ali in 52-54 kg, Udit Singh of Sai Public Inter College in 57-60 kg, Arbaaz in 63-66 kg and Yusuf Khan of St. Mary's in 70-75 kg won gold medals in their respective weight categories.

Excellent performance of players in girls category also

In the under-17 girls category, St Mary's Arshiya in 42 kg, Shalu Yadav of Vidya Sthali in 42-44 kg, Indivira Singh Bisht of Lucknow Montessori in 48-50 kg, Kritika Swarnkar of GGIC in 50-52 kg, Ritika Tiwari of Kashishwar Inter College in 52-54 kg and Bal Nikunj's Khushi in 70-75 kg. Pandey won the gold medal.

In the Under-19 girls category, Sneha Rawat of KRO Inter College was the winner in 45 kg, Sapna Saini of Janata Inter College was the winner in 45-48 kg and Junali Singh Bisht of Lucknow Montessori was the winner in 48-51 kg.

Whereas in the Under-19 boys category, Rohan, Navneet Singh, Sujit Kumar, Amishullah Khan, Bajrangi Pandey and Devendra Yadav achieved success in the competition by winning titles in their respective weight categories.
