Rajasthan Nikay Chunav Result: Independents won in Alwar Municipal Corporation elections, BJP and Congress failed to gather majority.

In the initial trends of counting of votes for the elections of 309 urban bodies of Rajasthan, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading and the Congress is also giving a tough fight. The officers provided this information. State Election Commission officials said that the counting of votes started at 8 am and for this, along with extensive security arrangements, other necessary arrangements have also been made.

Independents win in Alwar Municipal Corporation elections

After no party got a clear majority in the election results of all 65 wards of Alwar Municipal Corporation in Rajasthan, now a period of political manipulation is about to begin regarding the post of Mayor. In the results, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged as the largest party by winning 28 wards, while Congress has got 23 wards. By winning the elections, 13 independent councilors have brought the keys to the power of the corporation in their hands. At the same time, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has opened its account in the corporation by registering victory in one ward.

Lack of majority will increase tension

The biggest shocking thing about the election results was that BJP had to face defeat in the ward of Alwar City MLA and Forest and Environment Minister Sanjay Sharma and the Congress candidate registered victory. This result is being considered a big blow for BJP at the local level and its discussion has started in political circles. 33 councilors are needed to have majority in the Municipal Corporation. BJP is just five councilors away from majority, while Congress will need 10 councilors for majority. In such a situation, now the eyes of both the major parties are fixed on the independent councillors. In the election results, Independent Rashid was victorious in Ward 1, Vishnu of BJP in Ward 2, Madan Rathod of Independent in Ward 3, Jyoti of Congress in Ward 4, Keshav of Congress in Ward 5, Mukesh Sarwan of Congress in Ward 6, Suman Lata of BJP in Ward 7, Independent Ganesh in Ward 8, Independent Luv Kumar in Ward 9 and Kavita Solanki of BJP were victorious in Ward 10.

Devendra Rasganiya of BJP from Ward 11, Narayan Sai Wal of Congress from Ward 12, Sharda Devi of Congress from Ward 13, Ramanuj of BJP from Ward 14, Pushpa Khatik of Congress from Ward 15, Govind Kukreja of BJP from Ward 16, Surbhi of Congress from Ward 17, Manish Kumar of BJP from Ward 19, Beena of BJP from Ward 20. Gurjar, Independent Madhurani from Ward 21, Independent Kuldeep from Ward 22, Ravi Kapoor of Congress from Ward 23 and Kamlesh Yadav of BJP from Ward 25 were victorious.

Results for Wards 18, 24 and 40 are not available in the list, while there is ambiguity in the party details of Wards 27 and 59. Since no one has the majority, now independent councilors will write the next chapter of corporation politics. BJP needs five councilors to form power, while Congress will have to collect 10 councillors.

In such a situation, BJP's position appears strong in terms of numbers. However, the equation may change many times till the Mayor elections. Now both the parties are eyeing the independent councillors. There is a possibility of a period of enclosure, coaxing and political burglary. The path to the post of Mayor will be easier for the party which has sufficient support from independents. At present BJP is in lead due to being the largest party, but the final decision will depend on the stance of independents.

In the counting of votes for the posts of members in 309 urban bodies in Rajasthan, the results of 5893 members were released till around 12 noon. According to the Election Department, during this period, 2423 candidates of BJP, 2050 of Congress, 31 of CPI(M), eight of BAP, eight of BSP, five of Aam Aadmi Party and 1368 independent candidates have been victorious. Among these, till now the ruling BJP is leading with the victory of 2423 members.

In the results declared of 10,245 wards in the state, BJP has won 1,937, Congress 1,646 and independent candidates have won 1,040 wards. Apart from this, Rashtriya Loktantrik Party has won 42 wards, Bharat Adivasi Party eight, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) six, Marxist Communist Party (CPI-M) six and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) five wards.

77 candidates elected unopposed

These figures also include 77 candidates elected unopposed. The 309 municipal bodies in the state for which elections have been announced include 10 municipal corporations, 47 municipal councils and more than 200 municipalities. There are a total of 10,245 wards in all these bodies.
