Amravati, September 11 (IANS). The recently launched AI-based Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) in Andhra Pradesh has made the process of registering, monitoring and resolving complaints more efficient and citizen-friendly.
This was said by IT and RTGS Department Secretary Bhaskar Katmaneni.
Addressing a review meeting, Secretary of the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) said the AI-based PGRS will conduct a complete analysis of the status of complaints in districts and divisions, including identifying areas where a large number of complaints are lying unresolved. This will help district collectors to focus on priority areas and expedite resolution of complaints.
The system also allows citizens to lodge complaints directly from their mobile phones through the AI-based PGRS chatbot and easily track the status of their applications. So far, 23,100 complaints have been registered through the chatbot.
He said that the AI-based system will also automate the process of taking feedback from citizens after resolution of complaints, which will help the administration to assess the effectiveness and quality of resolution of complaints.
Four districts have emerged as role models. Bhaskar Katmaneni highlighted the new and improved methods being adopted by Nellore, Nandyal, Krishna and Sri Satya Sai districts in resolution of PGRS complaints.
Meanwhile, on the second day of the 8th District Collectors Conference held at the Secretariat, Bhaskar Katmaneni gave a PowerPoint presentation on data-based governance.
He said that collectors should pay special attention to ensure that every officer in the districts uses the RTGS Aware app and website.
The official said that all real-time information to weather conditions, intensity of diseases and other activities in the state is being made available through Aware. However, he said that this platform is currently being used only on a limited scale in the districts.
He suggested that everyone from village level small officials to district collectors should use Aware. He said that collectors should monitor and ensure that panchayat officers, VROs and other field level officers use this platform without any lapse.
Katmaneni said that information like rainfall received in a particular area, estimated or deficient rainfall, water level in the reservoirs of the area, groundwater level and possible availability of water is being made available in real-time.
Using this information, field-level officials will be able to know about the weather conditions, availability of water resources and intensity of disease spread in their respective areas. He said that this will help officers and employees to work more efficiently.
He said that different departments can also benefit a lot by using Aware. He said GENCO is already using heat maps from Aware to estimate electricity demand.
He said that Municipal Administration Department and Fire Services Department are also making good use of Aware and appealed to other departments to also use Aware effectively.
