On Tuesday (September 8) in the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League, Naman Dheer blew the bowlers away. Playing for Amritsar Surmaaz, Dheer scored 173 runs in 63 balls at a strike rate of 270.31 against Mohali Kings. This batsman, who plays for Mumbai Indians in IPL, made the record of the highest individual score in the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League.

Dheer hit 16 fours and 12 sixes before being dismissed in the last over of Amritsar Surmaaz's innings. Thanks to his explosive innings, Amritsar Surmaaz scored 279 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, which was the highest total in the history of the league. Apart from Dheer, Jashanpreet Singh scored 41 runs in 25 balls. Star batsman Abhishek Sharma scored 13 runs in 4 balls with the help of 2 sixes, while Abhay Chaudhary scored 20 runs in 10 balls.

Dheer scored a century in 38 balls

Dheer, who came to open in place of Abhishek Sharma, remained calm in the first over. He showed his attitude from the second over and completed his half-century in 19 balls within the powerplay. Dheer scored 30 runs against Luvdeep Chatha in the 12th over. He hit two fours and a six on the first three balls. The fourth ball was a no-ball, on which he scored two runs. After this, Dheer completed his century in 38 balls by hitting a six on the free-hit.

There were continuous wickets from one end but Dheer continued batting brilliantly and crossed the 150-run mark in the 17th over. However, after this he could not hit any six, otherwise he could have come close to a double century. Ayush Goyal put an end to his storm. He was caught by Harshdeep Singh on the fourth ball of the 20th over.

If the records of Sher-Punjab T20 League were included in the record book, it would have been the second highest individual innings in T20 history but the records of T20 leagues being held in different states of India are not counted. Let us tell you that the record of scoring the most runs in an innings in T20 cricket is in the name of Chris Gayle, who scored 175 runs in 66 balls against Pune Warriors in IPL 2013.

Amritsar Surmaaz won the match by 67 runs

After making a mountain-like total, Amritsar Surmaaz won by 67 runs by restricting Mohali Kings to 212 runs thanks to the lethal bowling of Shubham Rana. With this victory, its semi-final hopes are alive. Shubham Rana took 3 wickets for 30 runs in 4 overs. After creating havoc with the bat, Dheer also did wonders with the ball, taking 2 wickets for 8 runs in 2 overs. Abhishek Sharma got a success.
