Homegrown talents and world-renowned stars came up big on Matchday 25, securing their places in the latest Team of the Matchday presented by Audi.

Philadelphia Union stormed to a 5-0 demolition of 10-man FC Cincinnati, with Cavan Sullivan supplying three assists and Bruno Damiani scoring a hat-trick. Sullivan has now recorded a goal contribution in six consecutive matches, further strengthening the case for the 16-year-old homegrown player to be included in the upcoming United States men’s national team camp squad.

Philly are now unbeaten in nine matches (7W-0L-2D) since coming back from the FIFA World Cup break. Every one of those results has come under interim head coach Ryan Richter, who had earlier been in charge of their MLS NEXT Pro team.

Antoine Griezmann found the net for a fourth match in a row for Orlando City, scoring twice in a 3-2 victory away to rivals Atlanta United. The French superstar has made a huge impact since joining this summer from LaLiga giants Atlético Madrid; he now has 7g/3a in nine appearances as the Lions continue their push for the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.

St. Louis CITY SC forward Rafael Navarro and Portland Timbers winger Kristoffer Velde exchanged braces in an entertaining 2-2 draw at Providence Park. Navarro scored his first goals for St. Louis since joining from the Colorado Rapids in a $12 million trade, while Velde struck two brilliant free-kicks to take his team-leading tally to 17 goal contributions (8g/9a).

Chicago Fire FC attracted a club-record attendance of 63,094 for Wednesday’s 1-1 draw against reigning MLS Cup presented by Audi champions Inter Miami CF.

Homegrown goalkeeper Chris Brady made six saves for Chicago and was beaten only by Casemiro’s equaliser, the Brazilian superstar’s third successive game scoring with a powerful header from a corner delivered by Lionel Messi. Earlier, Fire left back Andrew Gutman produced a superb curling cross that Robert Lewandowski volleyed in to open the scoring.

San Jose Earthquakes homegrown midfielder Niko Tsakiris kept up his breakthrough campaign with 1g/2a in a 3-2 win away to San Diego FC, while D.C. United striker Tai Baribo moved up to fifth in the Golden Boot presented by Audi race after scoring a brace in a 2-1 victory over the Columbus Crew.

Completing the Team of the Matchday starting XI, New England Revolution right back Ilay Feingold made a major impact as a super-sub in his side’s 2-1 win away to New York City FC. The Israel international provided a precise assist for Dániel Gazdag’s stoppage-time winner in the second half.
