Actress and entrepreneur Preity Zinta has opened up about balancing motherhood with her professional commitments, saying a strong support system has played a crucial role in helping her pursue different responsibilities in life. Speaking to IANS, the ‘Soldier’ actress said women are naturally capable of multitasking and often continue to shoulder family responsibilities even after returning home from work. “Women are natural multitaskers. If you look at your mom or my mom, she might not have a job but her job is to look after my dad, three children, the household, so many things. So, women are natural multitaskers. Now women have become super women because there are a lot of women who are working and then they come home and they’re still taking care of the kids,” she said. Zinta acknowledged that managing a career alongside motherhood is challenging but said she feels fortunate to have the resources to seek help. “I am very lucky and fortunate and I’m very grateful to God that I have a lot more means so I can have help. I couldn’t have come here if I didn’t have help,” she said. The ‘Dil Se’ actress stressed that while support can make the balancing act easier, it cannot replace a mother. She said her own mother and other members of her support system have helped her manage her responsibilities. Zinta also praised women who juggle professional and family commitments without similar resources, saying their efforts deserve appreciation. The actress is based in Los Angeles with her husband, Gene Goodenough, and their twins, Jai and Gia. She took an extended break from films to focus on her personal life, motherhood and business ventures. After an eight-year hiatus, Zinta returned to the big screen with Rajkumar Santoshi’s period drama ‘Batwara 1947’, backed by Aamir Khan Productions. The film, starring Sunny Deol, was released in theatres on August 14, 2026.
