Mumbai, September 10. Indian star cricketer Rohit Sharma, when asked about the possibility of playing in next year's ODI World Cup, stated on Thursday that October 2027 is still far away.

During an event here, the former captain responded in a single line. Due to not playing in T20 internationals and Test cricket, there are speculations about Rohit's future in the ODI format. In response to a question during the event, Rohit mentioned that October 2027 is still far away, and they will see then.

The 2027 ODI World Cup will be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. He was also asked whether an open bus parade would be organized to celebrate with fans if India wins the title, similar to the victory parade held in Mumbai after Rohit's team won the T20 World Cup in the West Indies in 2024. Rohit stated that he does not think a bus parade would be possible now.

The Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Devjeet Saikia, had clarified a few days ago that there is no room for speculation regarding Rohit as he is performing well. Rohit had scored a century in his last ODI match for India.
