India has proudly made it to the semi-finals of the Junior Women's Hockey Asia Cup by thrashing Pakistan 19-0. Team India maintained dominance from the beginning till the end of the match and registered one of the biggest wins of the tournament. While India scored 19 goals, got 18 penalty corners and one penalty stroke, Pakistan could not get a single goal, penalty corner or penalty stroke.
Team India scored 5 goals in the first quarter, 5 in the second quarter, 3 in the third quarter and 6 in the last quarter. India got two penalty corners within the first five minutes. However, the team could not take advantage of this. India scored a goal in the sixth minute but the goal was declared invalid after referral. India kept up the pressure and got another penalty corner just a minute later. This time Pooja Sahu did not make any mistake and gave India a 1-0 lead.
Pakistan's defeat was decided in the first quarter itself
India immediately doubled its lead with a field goal from Roshni Aind in the 9th minute. On the fourth penalty corner that India got in this quarter, Tanushree Kadu scored through a deflection in the 11th minute to make the score 3-0. After this, Pakistan fouled inside the circle, due to which India got a penalty stroke in the 13th minute, which Sukhveer Kaur converted into a goal. Sanika Mane scored a field goal soon after and made the score 5-0 after the first quarter.
Madhu Sidar scored a field goal in the 16th minute, after which Geeta Yadav scored another goal two minutes later, taking India's lead to 7-0. Sanika scored her second goal in the 23rd minute. After this Tanuja Toppo scored her first goal of the match in the 25th minute. India won consecutive penalty corners. Pooja Malik converted a penalty in the 27th minute to make the score 10-0 before half time.
India scored goals in the second half also
At the beginning of the third quarter, India got another penalty corner, on which Purnima Yadav scored with a deflection to make the score 11-0. Madhu converted the penalty corner in the 39th minute and Supriya in the 40th minute. Krishna Sharma scored a field goal in the 48th minute. This was his first goal in the tournament. One minute later, Pooja scored her second goal and then completed her hat-trick by scoring another goal in the 51st minute.
India got another penalty corner in the 54th minute, which Supriya converted into a goal. After this, Binima Dhan scored a field goal in the 55th minute, while Roshni scored her second goal in the 60th minute to make the score 19-0. The Indian team will now face Korea or Malaysia in the semi-finals on Saturday.
