New Delhi. The first T20 match is to be played between India and Afghanistan on 13 September at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium. However, there was a cloud of crisis over this match. Delhi Traffic Police has appealed to Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) to reschedule this match. Now reaction has also come from DDCA on this. DDCA has clarified that the match will take place as per schedule. It is known that all the matches of the three-match series between India and Afghanistan are to be held in Delhi only.

Competitions are to be held in Delhi
All three matches of the series between India and Afghanistan will be played at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi. The first T20 will be held on 13 September, the second on 15 September and the third match on 17 September. That means the entire T20 series between India and Afghanistan is to be completed within five days. There is not much time left in the first T20, but before this the match has already been overshadowed by crisis.

Why appeal to DDCA?

BRICS Summit is to be organized in Delhi on 12 and 13 September. For this many VVIP guests will come to the capital. This is why Delhi Traffic Police has requested DDCA to reschedule the first T20. The first T20 between India and Afghanistan is to be held on 13th September at Arun Jaitley Stadium. DDCA, however, has said that this is not their event and if any changes are made in the award, they will inform about it.

DDCA posted on Twitter and wrote, the first T20 match between India and Afghanistan to be held on September 13 at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium will be held as per schedule. After the meeting with Delhi Traffic Police, DDCA has been assured of all necessary help and arrangements. The match will not be postponed.

Tight security for BRICS summit

Security arrangements have been tightened in Delhi for the BRICS Summit. In view of BRICS-2026, Delhi Police has banned some air activities. Action will be taken against those who violate the order. This order will be effective from September 10, 2026 and will remain in force till September 14, 2026. Leaders and senior representatives of 11 member countries and partner countries are going to attend the BRICS Summit. In view of this, extensive preparations have been made in Delhi regarding security, traffic, hotels, airport and movement of foreign leaders. About 30 thousand security personnel have been deployed for the security of the conference. Security has been increased around the airport, 11 hotels where foreign leaders stay and Bharat Mandapam.
