A sudden fire broke out in a ship parked at the port, at least 20 people died in the accident

New Delhi. A very painful incident of fire has occurred in a cargo ship parked at the port of Qingdao, a major shipping hub located on the coast of north-eastern China. At least 20 people died in this accident and five people are missing. This ship of Beihai Shipbuilding Company was standing for repair. The fire broke out around 11 am on Thursday and was extinguished by 2:30 pm local time. The cause of the fire is not known at present.

According to tracking website VesselFinder, the ship has been identified as Ocean Melody in a photo released by Xinhua News Agency. The flag of Liberia was placed on it. According to Xinhua report, there were a total of 42 people on board the ship. 12 people were evacuated safely. Five people were injured and taken to hospital. His condition remains stable.

'No sound of explosion, only smoke seen'

A witness told news agency AFP that he suddenly saw smoke coming from the ship, but fire was not visible anywhere. I didn't hear any bang or smell any smell. The length of this ship is 623 feet.

Let us tell you that this ship reached Kingston Shipyard on August 31 and has been standing there since then. The responsibility of operating this shipyard rests with the government company China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). Xinhua reported that Chinese President Xi Jinping ordered an immediate rescue operation to save the missing people on the ship.
