Twelve Carabao Cup ties will be played from September 9 to 17, but when will the draw for the next stage be held?

This season’s League Cup third-round fixtures are being staged across separate weeks because English clubs are involved in European competition.

As a result, the likes of Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Sunderland, Newcastle and Bradford have already booked their places in the competition’s fourth round.

The fourth-round draw is set to take place soon after the final third-round fixture scheduled for next week.

Manchester United are due to take on Brighton on September 16 at 8pm BST, with the draw then expected to be held at around 10:20pm BST.

There is still a chance that this match could bring Carlos Baleba’s debut for the Red Devils. If the Cameroonian does not feature, he would be expected to make an appearance in the club’s next Premier League game against Fulham.

Everton will host Wolves in a rearranged contest that was originally due to be played on Wednesday, September 9. Sheffield United will travel to Fleetwood, while newly-promoted Coventry City will be at home to fellow top-flight side Aston Villa.

The draw will be shown live on Sky Sports, with former Liverpool and Everton players Jamie Redknapp and Ashley Young conducting it.

On September 15, the day before the draw, another five Carabao Cup matches will take place, including Liverpool against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield, where Andrew Robertson is likely to feature again on Merseyside.

West Ham fans will see the return of what until recently was a Premier League derby when Fulham visit the London Stadium.

Arsenal, beaten by Manchester City in last season’s Carabao Cup final, will travel to Ipswich Town, while Peterborough United will host Barnsley.

Finally, Reading will welcome Brentford, which means all but three Carabao Cup third-round ties will have been settled by 10pm BST next Wednesday night, with Coventry v Villa and Manchester United v Brighton both scheduled to kick off at 8pm, and penalties also a possibility.

The last third-round match, Manchester City versus Norwich, will be played on Thursday, September 17, after the draw has taken place.

Fourth-round fixtures are scheduled for the week commencing October 26, followed by fifth-round ties in the week commencing December 14.
