A horrific accident came to light on Wednesday night near Palawan Island in the western Philippines, when a ferry full of passengers suddenly burst into flames. A total of 134 people were on board the ship, including 117 passengers and 17 crew members. In a large-scale relief and rescue operation started immediately after the accident, the Coast Guard has safely evacuated 43 people.
In this tragedy, bodies of 5 passengers have been recovered, while more than 80 people are still reported missing in the deep sea.
