Once again gold and silver prices saw a big surge. Gold eased for the third straight trading session, while silver continued its upward trend. Gold of 99.9 per cent purity fell by ₹100 to ₹1,58,000 per 10 grams in Delhi’s bullion market. At the same time, silver prices saw a huge jump of ₹2,300 in a single day to touch ₹2,43,400 per kg. In such a situation, gold buyers got some relief, but the price of silver added to the worries of buyers.
Gold of 99.9% purity closed at ₹1,58,100 per 10 grams in the previous trading session, according to the All India Sarafa Association. On Wednesday, it fell by ₹100 to close at ₹1,58,000. This is the third consecutive day of fall in gold prices. Weak demand in domestic markets is also believed to be the main reason for this. Investors are still cautious and awaiting key US inflation data.
Unlike gold, silver rose for the second day in a row. Silver rose by ₹2,300 to ₹2,43,400 per kg on Wednesday. On Tuesday, its price was ₹2,41,100 per kg. This means that the price of silver rose significantly in a single day. Globally, silver also gained about 1 percent to $66.25 an ounce. It also supported silver prices in the domestic market. In the Delhi market, gold of 99.9 per cent purity, or about 24 carat gold, is trading at ₹158,000 per 10 grams. However, prices may vary slightly in cities and jewelery stores. Making charges and other fees are added while buying jewellery.
