Bhopal. Intern doctors in Bhopal continued agitating on the streets on Tuesday also demanding increase in stipend. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla said on Tuesday that talks would be held with the Chief Minister upon his return from his foreign tour. Here, due to the doctors’ agitation, the hospitals and transport system are deteriorating. The number of protesting doctors is also increasing. The road has been blocked due to the demonstration. Intern doctors from other districts of the state and from other organizations are also reaching Bhopal. Due to the agitation, patients are facing problems in hospitals.

The general public is getting troubled and there is a jam-like situation on the roads. Even ambulances and working people are facing problems. Except emergency facilities, all other medical services are at a standstill. Intern doctors have also got the support of the Medical Teachers Association. Intern doctors are demanding that their stipend be increased. Action should be taken against the policemen and officers who used water cannon and lathi charge. Doctors who were injured due to the use of water cannon should be compensated and treated. Along with this, written assurance should be given on their demands. A large number of police forces are present in view of the demonstration.

It is possible to talk to the Chief Minister today

Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla met the doctors’ delegation regarding the doctors’ agitation. Said that Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will discuss the demands of the doctors after returning from the foreign tour. There have been positive talks with the delegation. Orders were given on Tuesday to investigate the water cannon used by the police during the ongoing protest by intern doctors in Bhopal. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla has taken cognizance of doctors getting injured due to the use of water cannon. He spoke to Bhopal Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar and directed for a fair investigation. Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone-2 Vikas Sehwal has been appointed as the investigating officer for its investigation. The investigating officer will give the investigation report after listening to all the concerned parties.

The Chief Minister will return from abroad today. After this a solution can emerge. Let it be known that two days ago the police had used water cannon, due to which the doctors got injured. The eardrums of some were affected and some doctors suffered fractures. Many got injured. He was admitted to the hospital for treatment. On this, the police argue that the agitators tried to go out through a gate other than the prescribed route, meanwhile there was a scuffle, to control which water cannon was used.

Consensus can be reached on increasing stipend

There has been a long standing demand of intern doctors that the stipend should be increased. Applications for this have been given to the government several times. Now it is believed that increasing the stipend can be considered. But the decision will be taken only after considering how much the stipend will increase.
