Sukhjinder Randhawa's tone while talking to the media after this meeting seems to have completely changed. He clearly said that he had never demanded the removal of the Punjab Congress chief. This statement has come after about an hour's meeting with Sachin Pilot.

Sukhjinder Randhawa congratulated Sachin Pilot on being made Punjab incharge of Congress. When he was asked that you had demanded to change the PCC chief. On this Sukhjinder Randhawa said that I never demanded the removal of Pradhan. He said that neither I nor Channi asked anyone to change the head. Regarding the appointment of Sachin Pilot, former CM Charanjit Singh Channi said that his arrival has given a new hope to the Congress. A faction of Congress in Punjab had been demanding the removal of Raja Wadding for a long time. Former CM Channi himself was in line to become the chief but the Congress high command rejected his demand. He was given the responsibility of campaign committee but after this he along with many leaders started pressurizing the Congress high command to reconsider the decision. In-charge Bhupesh Baghel tried to calm down the dispute but he also had to face opposition. The in-charge was also accused of taking unilateral decisions and the Channi group kept distance from him. After this, now the Congress high command has made Sachin Pilot in-charge of Punjab in place of Bhupesh Baghel.
