Bhopal: A statement by Congress MLA Abhay Mishra regarding Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh has created controversy. Let us tell you, Semaria MLA Mishra has made very serious allegations regarding the mortuary and post-mortem process of the hospital. They claim that if the family members of a dead woman are not present during the post-mortem, then the dead body is raped. However, the hospital management has termed the MLA's allegations as completely baseless.
This statement of Mishra came to light during the ongoing protest against the hospital after the recent death of pregnant woman Kalpana Mishra and her unborn child. After his statement went viral on social media, the discussion regarding the security arrangements of the hospital and monitoring of dead bodies in the mortuary has intensified.
MLA narrated two year old alleged case
Addressing the protest, Abhay Mishra claimed that about two years ago a person had come to him with the post-mortem of his daughter-in-law. According to the MLA, the person expressed his desire to get the post-mortem done in his presence and also asked to pay money for it.
Mishra said that when he asked the reason for this, the man allegedly told him that if a beautiful woman dies in Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, if her family members are not present during the post-mortem, then the dead body is raped. However, the MLA did not present any document or direct evidence in support of this claim in his statement.
Hospital administration rejected the allegations
After the MLA's statement, the hospital administration reacted strongly to these allegations. Hospital CMO Alakh Prakash said that the statement given by the MLA to the public is completely baseless and there is no truth in it. He said that being a public representative, the MLA should consider the facts and evidence before making such serious allegations. If they have any solid evidence to the allegations, it should be made public. At present, the MLA's allegations in this matter have not been independently confirmed. The hospital administration has vehemently rejected the allegations, while investigation and political rhetoric regarding the matter is ongoing.
