The month-long national campaign demonstrates the government's commitment to bring nutrition to communities and encourage families, organizations and citizens to accept nutrition as a collective responsibility. Taking this approach to the grassroots level, the 'Nand Ghar Ka Mission, Sampoor Poshan' campaign will connect children, mothers, fathers, Nand Ghar didis (Anganwadi workers) and communities in more than 15,000 Nand Ghars across 18 states. This will convey the message that true nutritional security is not limited to just enough food but is about creating a healthy environment around every child.

More enabling Anganwadi system

Nand Ghar is empowering the Anganwadi system in India through modern and technology-enabled centres. These centers have integrated nutrition, early childhood care and education, primary healthcare and women empowerment services on a single platform. This holistic approach recognizes that a child's well-being depends not only on his diet, but also on the knowledge, care and support he and his family receive.

Nand Ghar's 'Mother's Food Preparation Programme'

A prime example of this community-oriented approach is Nand Ghar's 'Mother's Food Preparation Programme'. Under this programme, mothers are encouraged to prepare nutritious meals at home using locally available ingredients and are made active participants in the nutrition journey.

About 2 lakh mothers participated in the program

So far, about 2 lakh mothers have participated in this program and have helped to prepare about 1.5 lakh meals. The program demonstrates that empowering mothers through appropriate information and active participation in food preparation can strengthen the daily nutritional habits of children and families and contribute to their health and well-being.

Nutrition gives every child the right start in life

Chairman of Vedanta Group Mr. Anil Aggarwal said, “I have always believed that nutrition is about giving every child the right start in life. Addition of education and culture lays a strong foundation for a competent and productive life in the first six years of life. Our scriptures also say the same. 50 percent of our population is women. When women are empowered and financially independent, it has a transformative impact on the family, society and economy. That is my dream behind the concept of Nand Ghar”.

He added, “Today, through more than 15,000 Nanda Houses in 18 states, this dream is coming true, positively impacting the lives of more than 5 lakh children and 4 lakh women. With the cooperation of the central and state governments, as well as the communities we connect with, we can take this movement to every corner of India and create a healthier and stronger generation.” Taking this approach further, 'Nand Ghar Ka Mission, Sampoor Poshan' will seek to link nutrition with daily life behaviors and actions through various community-oriented initiatives.

Grow for Poshan

Various activities like Poshan Vatika Planting Campaign and Poshan Vatika Cooking will be organized under this initiative. Through kitchen gardens developed in Nand homes, children and mothers will be connected to local food production and will be introduced to the entire journey from 'seed to plate'.

Cook for Poshan

Nand Ghar's chefs will prepare nutritious and attractive food tailored to local needs. Traditional food ingredients and local cuisines will also be promoted on this occasion.

Supplement for Poshan

These efforts will be further strengthened by distributing fresh fruits and fortified nutritional supplements to children. The aim is to highlight the importance of a varied and nutrient-rich diet. The initiative will also showcase Nand Ghar's comprehensive nutrition interventions. These include millet-based Nutri Bars, fortified nutritional supplements and Project Balvardhan based on a scientific approach to tackle malnutrition.

Learn for Poshan

The focus of this initiative will be on increasing nutritional awareness and knowledge. The focus will be on increasing information and awareness about issues to anemia and iron intake, especially among adolescent girls.

Family for Poshan

Through the initiative 'Papa Ka Poshan', fathers and daughters will be involved together in various activities to nutrition. This will convey the message that responsibility for child nutrition is a shared responsibility of the entire family.

Community Pledges

The initiative will encourage individuals and communities to make their own nutrition resolutions and track their progress. This will help transform nutrition awareness into concrete and consistent action.

An important reminder of the commitment of the Government of India

CEO of Nand Ghar Shri. Shashi Arora said, “Poshan Nand does not end at the doorstep; it reaches every mother, father and child at their doorstep. This is the philosophy of Nand Ghar and is deeply connected to our Chairman Mr. Anil Aggarwal's vision that every child should get proper nutrition and no one should go to bed hungry. The 9th National Poshan Abhiyan 2.0 is an important reminder of the Government of India's commitment to make Poshan a mass movement. Bringing families, communities and institutions together for the better. It is an attempt to make nutrition a shared responsibility”.

He added, “Our 'Mother's Food Preparation Programme' has already shown how much of a difference nearly 2 lakh mothers can make when they actively participate in their children's nutrition. This Nutrition Month, we are taking this sense of participation even further. Through cooking, education and collective action, we are connecting families and communities on this journey so that good nutrition becomes a lasting habit and Nand reaches every household.”

Various aspects of the concept on one platform

Together, these activities bring together the various aspects of the concept of nutrition security on one platform—food and supplementation, maternal involvement, nutrition education, family involvement, local food systems, sanitation, and coordination with government programs. This approach links nutrition to those everyday behaviors and community involvement that are necessary to sustain healthy choices in the long run.

Good nutrition is such a permanent habit

Through 'Nand Ghar Ka Mission, Whole Nutrition', Nand Ghar wishes to highlight that nutritional security does not only come from the food that reaches a child's plate, but also the knowledge, choices, habits and role of individuals around the child. The initiative aims to make good nutrition a permanent habit, which will reach every household from Nand Ghar and transform Poshan Mah into a sustainable and inspiring opportunity for daily action.
