Raipur. Ms. Bel Thul O, a student from Nagaland, took admission in MBBS course on 8 September 2026 under MBBS Central Pool seat at Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS), Bilaspur. She is the first student to take admission in SIMS through Central Pool Seat.
Even before this, students from Nagaland are studying MBBS in SIMS. Presently 6 students from Nagaland admitted in the last years are studying in SIMS Medical College. The educational system and teaching work available in SIMS has been appreciated by the parents of these students.
The admission process for the first phase of State Quota and All India Quota in SIMS has been completed. After the first phase, the admission process is being carried forward in respect of 115 seats of State Quota and 1 seat of All India Quota. At present 9 seats of State Quota, 21 seats of All India Quota and 3 seats of Central Pool Quota are vacant. The counseling process for the second phase of the admission process is going on, the admission process of which will start from September 12, 2026.

SIMS Dean Dr. Ramnesh Murthy said that the admission of a girl student from Nagaland to SIMS through the Central Pool seat is a matter of happiness for the institute. He said that students from different states of the country are coming to SIMS to get medical education. Welcome Ms. Bel Thul O to the SIMS family as the first student to be admitted through the Central Pool quota. In SIMS, continuous efforts are being made to provide better educational environment, quality medical education and necessary facilities to the students.
He said that students coming from different states joining SIMS promotes educational and cultural diversity at the national level in the institute. The priority of the institute is to provide better medical education to all the students studying in SIMS.
