Iran Missile Attack: The tension between America and Iran has once again reached a dangerous point. According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) tried to target a US Navy warship twice with ballistic missiles. After both attacks failed, the US Army took action against five crude oil tankers belonging to Iran on September 8.

According to CENTCOM, US forces targeted four tankers—M/T Kaviz, M/T Charminar, M/T Horizon 1 and M/T Riesco—in the Gulf of Oman. The fifth tanker M/T Derya was attacked near Kharg Island. The US military says that the crews of the ships were instructed to abandon them before the attack. After this, these ships were damaged in such a way that they were no longer fit for operation.

The American command claimed that these tankers were part of Iran’s billion-dollar secret oil network. According to him, the income from this network reaches the IRGC and its regional affiliates.

Action was also taken on 5th September

CENTCOM said that also on September 5, three Iranian crude oil tankers were targeted. According to the US command, the IRGC had earlier tried to attack an American aircraft carrier and a guided-missile destroyer. CENTCOM says that all IRGC’s attempts so far to target American warships have failed.

Missile attack on American base in Jordan

At the same time, while responding to the American action, Iran has claimed to target the American military base in Jordan. IRGC said that it launched a massive missile attack on Al-Azraq base in Jordan. According to the Jordanian army, 18 out of 20 missiles fired from Iran were shot down. The remaining two missiles fell in deserted areas and no casualties were reported.
