A terrible civil war has started again in Yemen since last July. After four years of cease-fire, the atmosphere of conflict is gradually intensifying. The bloody fight between Iran-backed Houthis and Saudi Arabia-backed government forces has seen a new disaster. Heavy ground fighting is currently underway in Taiz, Marib, Hodeidah and the Red Sea coast.
It is known that the goal of the government forces is to recover the capital Sana'a from the Houthis. So they counter-attacked. Earlier, 73 civilians were injured when the Houthis attacked the southern city of Saudi Arabia. Riyadh, meanwhile, has warned against continuing such attacks. All in all, the atmosphere of war is gradually thickening.
The Houthis claimed that they had given a befitting response to the Saudi attack in Al-Jawf region. On the other hand, at least seven people were killed in an airstrike in a prison in Al-Hazm city. The Houthis have warned that this 'aggression' will be given a worthy response. A UN-brokered cease-fire in 2022 halted large-scale conflict. But the situation worsened overnight as a result of this new conflict, according to informed sources. It is good to say that after the beginning of the conflict in Gaza in October 2023, the Houthi declared war on Israel. At that time, they launched missile and drone attacks on Israel.
Saudi political analyst Khaled Batarfi said the recent provocations by the Houthis have gone too far. He hopes the military alliance will respond with an 'eye for an eye' policy. In other words, this fight is going to be more bloody in the future.
