Jalandhar. Under the Special Intensive Revision of Voter Lists-2026, which is going on on the instructions of the Election Commission of India, special camps were organized at all the 1997 polling stations in the district. Claims and objections were received from voters in the camps organized as per the instructions of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Varjeet Walia visited various polling stations and took stock of the arrangements. He said that the objective of the camps is to ensure registration of eligible citizens as voters and to provide assistance to voters in filing notices, claims and objections.
During the camps, booth level officers were present at the polling stations and assisted the citizens in filling Form No. 6, 6A and 8. Apart from this, after identifying the disabled voters, Form No. 8 was filled for necessary marking, so that necessary facilities can be provided to them during the election process.
