WhatsApp is a widely used messaging platform in the country. To enhance the user experience, the company frequently rolls out new features. As part of this ongoing effort, the company is preparing to launch a feature that will enable individuals without a WhatsApp account to join WhatsApp calls. This feature is reportedly being called "Guest Calls."

According to media reports, currently, joining a WhatsApp call requires the other person to have the WhatsApp app installed and an active account. Consequently, anyone without WhatsApp cannot directly participate in a WhatsApp call.

The arrival of the new "Guest Calls" feature could change how the app is used. With this feature, a secure call link can be sent to users who do not have an account. By clicking this link, they can join the call via their web browser. The standout feature here is that there will be no need to download the WhatsApp app or create a new account.

Reports indicate that WhatsApp users will be able to create a call link from the "Calls" tab. They can generate a link by selecting the call type and then share it with the intended participants. Upon receiving the link, the recipient can open it in a browser to access the WhatsApp Web call interface and join the conversation as a guest.

Security has also been prioritized for this feature. Reports suggest that guests will not gain direct entry into the call; the host must manually accept each guest's join request to prevent unauthorized access. Additionally, the host will retain the authority to manage guests during the call. The host can remove a participant from the call and, if necessary, end the call for everyone.

This upcoming WhatsApp feature is also expected to utilize End-to-End Encryption (E2EE), prioritizing the security of conversations during calls. However, full details regarding security in the final version will only be clarified once WhatsApp makes an official announcement.

It is worth noting that the 'Guest Calls' feature is currently in the testing phase and has not yet been released for beta testing; therefore, it is difficult to say when it will be rolled out to all users. If WhatsApp launches this feature, it could prove highly beneficial for those who need to speak via call with individuals who do not use WhatsApp.
