The popularity of electric cars is continuously increasing amid rising prices of petrol and diesel in India. Now instead of being limited to just big cities, the reach of EV is expanding to small towns and rural areas as well. This is the reason why automobile companies are also introducing new and powerful models in the electric segment.
If you are also planning to buy a premium electric SUV these days, then Tata Harrier EV can be an interesting option for you. With a powerful design, large battery pack, long driving range and advanced features, this SUV is designed for long distance travel.
Range of more than 600 KM in one charge
The biggest feature of Tata Harrier EV is its range. It has battery pack options of 65 kWh and 75 kWh. The single-motor rear-wheel drive version is capable of delivering a range of around 538 km to 627 km as per ARAI testing.
This means that the hassle of repeatedly searching for a charging station during long distance travel can be significantly reduced. However, the actual driving range depends on many factors such as road, weather, driving style and use of air conditioning.
Charges from 20 to 80% in 25 minutes
Harrier EV has also been made quite advanced in terms of charging. It has 120kW DC fast charging support. According to the company's claim, with the help of fast charger, it may take about 25 minutes to charge the battery from 20 percent to 80 percent.
The SUV also has the option of all-wheel drive, which is expected to provide better grip and power on bad, slippery and rough roads.
Strong power and fast acceleration
Talking about performance, the single-motor version of Harrier EV is capable of delivering power up to 235 bhp. Whereas the dual-motor variant with 75 kWh battery generates power of about 390 bhp and torque of 504 Nm.
In boost mode, this electric SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 6.3 seconds. It is clear from this that the car has been designed keeping in mind not only more range but also fast performance.
Hi-tech features available in premium cabin
The interior of Harrier EV is also one of its major features. The cabin has been given a premium and modern design. It has a large Samsung Neo QLED touchscreen infotainment system, which gives a high-tech look to the cabin of the car.
Apart from this, features like panoramic sunroof, auto park assist and 540-degree surround view camera have been provided in the SUV. For safety, Level-2 ADAS technology is also available, which provides many advanced safety and driver-assist functions while driving.
Driving modes for different routes
Harrier EV has been provided with several terrain response modes according to different conditions. These include modes like Normal, Rough, Wet, Eco and Sport.
With the help of these modes, the driver can adjust the behavior of the car according to the road and driving conditions. These modes can prove useful especially on bad or slippery roads.
How much is the price of Tata Harrier EV?
The starting ex-showroom price of Tata Harrier EV in the Indian market is said to be around Rs 21.79 lakh, while the price of its top variant goes up to around Rs 29.79 lakh.
If your budget is around Rs 20 to 30 lakh and you want an electric SUV that has long range, strong performance, premium interior and advanced safety features, then Harrier EV can be included in your options. However, before buying a car, definitely check the information about the variants available in your city, on-road price, charging facility and actual driving range.
