Real Madrid made a strong push to sign the French forward during the summer transfer window.
Bayern Munich could ease their position on a potential sale of Michael Olise next summer after spending much of this summer maintaining that the Frenchman was not available.
Real Madrid were widely understood to have a serious interest in signing him earlier this summer, but Bayern officials repeatedly appeared in the media to stress that he was not for sale. Paris Saint-Germain were also reported to be interested in bringing him in.
The story eventually appeared to be settled when Los Blancos released a club statement distancing themselves from the player.
However, a fresh interview from Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen indicates that Olise may leave the club after the 2026/27 season.
Speaking to German television channel Sport1, Dreesen declined to guarantee that the winger would still be playing at the Allianz Arena next season: “In this business, making promises is tricky.
Bayern Munich may consider offers for Michael Olise next season.
“Will we be able to retain him permanently? We'll revisit that next summer.”
Dreesen’s answer may encourage Olise’s admirers to return with bids next summer. He still has three years remaining on his current contract.
Dreesen, a former banker who has been with Bayern since 2013, went on to confirm that the club did not receive any formal offers for Olise during the summer transfer window: “It was nonsense to say that we had dozens of proposals on the table this summer. We didn't have any.
“Olise is very important for this team. He’s a magician on the pitch.”
It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid will revive their interest in Olise after reportedly spending £120m in early August to sign Liverpool target Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig.
Olise has already continued his impressive scoring form at the start of the new Bundesliga season, scoring once in two league appearances so far. That follows his outstanding 2025/26 campaign, when he scored or assisted 35 goals in only 32 appearances.
