ICC: The Indian cricket team and Pakistan only compete in ICC and ACC tournaments. However, fans want to see more matches between the two teams. The ICC now wants to see more matches between the two teams. Consequently, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is now considering organizing a tri-series or quadrangular white-ball tournament, which the ICC wants to include the Indian and Pakistani teams in, thus doubling the fan enjoyment.

ICC wants India and Pakistan match

Tri-series or quadrangular white-ball tournaments have long been discontinued in cricket. But now the ICC wants to bring back those days. While tri-series feature three teams, quadrangular tournaments feature four teams. According to reports in Pakistani media, the ICC will soon hold a meeting to discuss the Future Tours Programme. This meeting is scheduled to take place in Dubai on September 22nd and 23rd.

The meeting, which will include 12 Test-playing nations and eight associate nations, is expected to take place. According to reports, the ICC will present this proposal to the BCCI at this meeting. However, the BCCI is currently holding off on this proposal. In fact, the government has only allowed the BCCI to play against Pakistan in ICC and ACC tournaments. Therefore, the BCCI will need to obtain permission from the Indian government first.

Both teams can play quadrangular

There seems to be very little chance of a tri-series between India and Pakistan. However, if the ICC decides to organize a quadrangular, the BCCI could receive government permission. In fact, the quadrangular could also be called a multi-nation tournament. In this scenario, the BCCI has a great chance.

However, the BCCI would like to ensure that if Team India faces Pakistan in a quadrangular, the teams from England and Australia are also present. This would make for a very exciting series. Fans are losing faith in the ODI format. Therefore, the ICC may organize a quadrangular series to revive the ODI format. With the return of this format, the Board will have more opportunities to organize such tri-series.
