Due to increase in the water level of Ganga, Kosi, Gandak, Budhi Gandak, Punpun and Bagmati rivers, a flood situation has arisen in Bihar. A total of 22.42 lakh people have been affected by the situation in 12 districts of the state. Nearly 4,000 houses in Sultanganj have been submerged due to the overflowing of the 'Ring Embankment' (protective dam) in Bhagalpur.
Monsoon rains continue continuously in Uttar Pradesh. Due to intermittent rains in Bareilly since Sunday afternoon, the water level in the fire station rose by three feet, while knee-deep water accumulated in the kitchens and bedrooms of people's homes.
Meanwhile, due to continuing rains in Uttarakhand, all schools and Anganwadi centers have been closed today in Almora, Nainital and Champawat. Apart from this, a woman died after being hit by a rock that fell from the landslide on the footpath leading to Kedarnath.
Rain warning in 58 districts
Rain warning has been issued in 58 districts of Uttar Pradesh today, Monday. These warnings include 'very heavy' rainfall for six districts and 'heavy' rainfall for thirteen districts. In the last 24 hours, 54 districts of the state have received rainfall, with Bijnor recording the highest rainfall of 90 mm.
