Andaman and Nicobar has got its new Lieutenant Governor. BJP has handed over this responsibility to former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Dinesh Sharma. He is currently a Rajya Sabha MP from 2023. After this, now the party has given him new responsibility. He has held the responsibility of Deputy CM in the government of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from 2017 to 2022.
President Draupadi Murmu has appointed Dinesh Sharma as the Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. A notification has been issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday (September 5) night, in which he has been made the Lieutenant Governor.

Dinesh Sharma’s political journey
Dinesh Sharma has held the responsibility of the post of Deputy CM in CM Yogi government. Before this, he had also become the Mayor of Lucknow twice. Since 2006, he had held the responsibility of Lucknow Mayor. Apart from this, he has worked on many major national posts including National Vice President of BJP. He has worked as a professor in the Commerce Department at Lucknow University. From here he did PhD, M.Com and D.P.A. Have obtained degree. Apart from this, he has also written many books and research papers in the field of commerce.

Former PM recognized political talent
Dinesh Sharma was born on January 12, 1964. Before becoming the Mayor of Lucknow, he worked as a professor in Lucknow University. His political talent was recognized by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He entered politics from RSS and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. After this he was made the youth president of Uttar Pradesh BJP organization. During this period he had made a good name.
From when to when did he become mayor?
Dinesh Sharma took over the post of Mayor of Lucknow in the year 2006. After this, he was made mayor again in the year 2012. Then he was made a candidate in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and won the election. After this he was given the responsibility of National Vice President and on March 19, 2017, he was made Deputy CM in the UP government.
