Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal informed on Sunday that during India's BRICS Chairmanship 2026, special emphasis is being laid on innovation, knowledge sharing, mentorship, digital infrastructure and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Its main objective is to strengthen capabilities among member countries and take mutual cooperation to new heights. Sharing visuals on social media platform 'X', Jaiswal said that India's chairmanship is working rapidly towards promoting mutual cooperation and enabling new solutions.
Let us tell you, the video released in this regard has been titled “India's BRICS Chairship 2026: Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainability”. The video emphasizes that the greatest successes are achieved when knowledge is shared and youth and entrepreneurs are given full opportunity to grow. Under this, there are plans to create a startup fund, incubator network and a dedicated youth platform. Along with this, a 'research repository' like a common library of science for eleven countries and a framework for extensive use of digital infrastructure and AI in areas like agriculture, health, labor market and urban transport has also been presented.
Many important initiatives have been included under the Innovation Pillar, which include Digital Health Architecture Compendium, BRICS Startup Innovation Fund, Urban Mobility Hub, Digital Agriculture Network, DPI Pilot Projects, AI-Enabled Cultural Object Identification and Traditional Medicine Knowledge Compendium. The Ministry of External Affairs has made it clear that when knowledge is shared, innovation accelerates and everyone benefits from it.
It is noteworthy that the main theme of this BRICS Chairmanship of India is “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability”, which reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Humanity First'. India, as the current Chair of BRICS, is going to host the 18th BRICS Summit on 12-13 September at the prestigious Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, which will bring together top leaders of various member countries, partner countries and outreach invitees.
