Honda, which has made its mark in the country for years, is now in a mood to go beyond limited models and cater to customers of every segment. It is reported that by the end of this decade the company can introduce about 10 new vehicles in the Indian market. Of these, 7 vehicles will be SUVs with different sizes and powertrains, which will directly compete with popular vehicles like Creta, Nexon and Safari.

The company has recently made its intention clear by bringing the GR-V Hybrid through the CBU route. Along with this, the idea of ​​bringing back globally loved big names like Prelude, Civic and CR-V to India is also underway. Important details to the four major vehicles to be launched in the future are as follows:

New avatar and sporty look: Sixth generation Honda City

'Honda City', which ruled the sedan segment for a long time, is now going to come in a completely new look. The sixth generation City is being designed on the company's new 'PF2' lightweight platform. This time the look may be a bit different from the traditional sedan and may be sporty and coupe style, a glimpse of which has been seen in Honda's recent concept models. Inside the car, there will be more space for passengers than before, better rear-seat comfort and increased boot space. For power, it is expected to continue with the reliable 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which will be mated to both manual and automatic gearboxes.

Entry in electric segment: Honda 0 Alpha SUV

As part of its move towards electric vehicles, Honda is going to introduce its first pure-EV 'Honda 0 Alpha'. This can be brought out by the end of the current financial year. The car will be based on 'Thin, Light and Wise' architecture, which will improve both its battery efficiency and interior space. Compared to the Elevate, its wheelbase will be about 100 mm longer, due to which the cabin will feel quite spacious. It is also likely to have the facility of fast DC fast-charging. As soon as it hits the market, it will compete directly with Creta EV, Tata Sirera EV and Mahindra's new electric vehicles.

Return to sub-4 meter market: New compact SUV

In view of the increasing demand for the small SUV segment, Honda is planning to launch a new compact SUV by 2028. This car, built on the PF2 platform, can be given a new 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine. The special thing is that the company is also exploring the option of providing a strong hybrid system in it, which will be capable of giving excellent mileage. This model will directly challenge vehicles like Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet in the market.

7-seater SUV for large families

Honda is now also going to bet in the segment of three-row vehicles. This 7-seater SUV, built on the PF2 platform, can come in two options of 6 and 7 seats. Captain seats will be available in the middle row in the 6-seater variant. For performance, it is likely to get a 1.5-litre petrol engine as well as the next generation 1.5-litre e:HEV hybrid powertrain. This vehicle will compete with big players like Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar.
