Category-wise Breakdown of Computer Operator Posts

There are a total of 12 vacancies in the computer cadre under this UPSSSC recruitment drive. The majority of these are for the Computer Operator (Grade A) position. There are 11 posts for Computer Operator (Grade A) and 1 post for Assistant Computer Operator. Of the 11 Computer Operator (Grade A) posts, 5 are for the General category, 2 for OBC, 1 for EWS, and 3 for SC; there are no posts reserved for ST. The single post for Assistant Computer Operator falls under the General category.

Mandatory Qualification: Passing PET 2025

This is not a general open recruitment. To apply, candidates must have appeared for the UPSSSC PET 2026 examination and obtained a score card. The Commission will shortlist candidates for the Computer Operator main examination based on their normalized scores from PET 2025. Candidates up to 15 times the number of vacancies will be selected for the main examination. Shortlisting will be based on the available posts in the respective categories and the normalized PET 2025 scores. Candidates with a zero or negative normalized score in PET 2025 will not be shortlisted for this main examination. Meanwhile, applications from candidates falling under the ‘under investigation’ or ‘provisional’ categories will be accepted subject to the Commission’s final decision.

Qualifications for Computer Operator Grade A

To apply for the post of Computer Operator Grade A, candidates must hold a graduation degree from a recognized university. Additionally, they must possess a diploma in Computer Science from a recognized institution. For this specific post, a minimum of three years of experience in the field of computer applications is also required. Similarly, for the post of Assistant Computer Operator, candidates must hold a graduation degree or a diploma from a recognized university.

What is the salary for a Computer Operator?

Selected candidates will receive salaries based on the specific post. The Computer Operator Grade A post falls under Level 4, with a pay scale ranging from ₹25,500 to ₹83,100. The Assistant Computer Operator post falls under Level 2, with a pay scale ranging from ₹19,900 to ₹63,200. In addition to the basic salary, applicable allowances and benefits associated with the posts will also be provided.
