Kiev. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has claimed that Foreign Minister S. While Jaishankar (Volodymyr Zelenskyy) was meeting him in Kiev, Russia carried out a drone attack on Ukraine. According to Zelensky, 'Shahed' drones with jet engines were launched by Russia. Ukraine has earlier also been accusing Iran of helping in the development of these drones.

Zelensky said that Ukrainian fighter planes shot down most of the drones in the air, due to which the Indian delegation led by Jaishankar remained safe.

Discussion on ways to end the war

Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar met President Zelensky in Ukraine's capital Kiev on Thursday. Possible ways to end the Russia-Ukraine war as well as further bilateral relations between India and Ukraine were discussed in the talks.

Jaishankar said through a post on social media that he informed Zelensky about the conversation he had with Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiha. The main issue of discussion between the two sides was to find a solution to the war.

During this meeting, news of Russian drone attack in Kiev came to light.

Zelensky mentioned the Indian delegation

Zelensky specifically mentioned the security of Jaishankar's delegation in his statement. He said that Ukrainian fighter planes destroyed most of the drones and that is why the Indian delegation remained safe.

According to the Ukrainian President, at the time when Jaishankar was present with him in Kiev, Russia once again launched jet engine Shahed drones.

This development is important because Jaishankar had reached Ukraine at a time when there was a threat of Russian air strikes in the capital.

Zelensky asked for a clear stance from the world

Zelensky appealed to the international community and the world's major powers to take a clear stance on the Russia-Ukraine war. He said that war needs to end and there should be peace that is credible and long lasting.

He also mentioned India's stand and said that Ukraine appreciates India's commitment to end the war.

Russia accused of ports and food supply

The Ukrainian president also accused Russia of disrupting Ukraine's ports, food corridors and supply lines. He particularly stressed the importance of protecting civilian ships in the Black Sea.

Zelensky argues that the impact of any blockage of sea routes will not be limited to Ukraine only. This may also affect the food supply in areas that depend on these sea routes.

This meeting, which took place during Jaishankar's visit to Kiev and the drone attack that occurred at the same time, also underlines the seriousness of the current situation of the Russia-Ukraine war.
