FPL 2026/27: Three transfers to consider for Gameweek 3

Three transfers to consider for your Fantasy Premier League team ahead of Gameweek 3.

FPL Gameweek 2 produced 32 goals, a 23-point masterclass from Bruno Fernandes, and differential returns from Cherki and Yoane Wissa. With the fixture list beginning to tighten, smart moves ahead of GW3 could help managers recover rank and build momentum.

Kevin Schade (Brentford, £6.0m) has begun the season strongly for Brentford. He found the net in GW2 away at Leeds and has already shown significant attacking threat, registering 1.1 xG so far this season.

Schade brings a high ceiling as Brentford’s main left-sided attacker, and his next assignment is a favourable home fixture against Sunderland. For managers looking for a mid-priced midfielder capable of delivering a big haul, Schade stands out as an excellent option going into GW3.

Yoane Wissa (Newcastle, £6.1m) appears revitalised this season. After a disastrous debut campaign, he has already scored once and set up another goal, giving him a total of 12 points so far.

Wissa is also helped by Newcastle’s outstanding upcoming schedule, with no match rated above 3 in the next nine. He also leads the squad for projected points across the next five gameweeks with 23.3. With penalty-taking duties likely and regular minutes expected, Wissa offers both immediate and medium-term value for FPL managers.

Ezri Konsa (Arsenal, £4.4m) presents a budget-friendly way into Arsenal’s defence. The England centre-back joined Arsenal from Aston Villa in the summer and is expected to start regularly while William Saliba is absent.

At £4.4m, Konsa offers clean-sheet potential in Arsenal’s back line while also allowing managers to release funds for premium attackers. For those in need of defensive reliability and budget flexibility, Konsa looks a shrewd choice.

FPL managers have until 18:30 BST on Friday, 4 September to finalise their selections for Gameweek 3.
