On the eve of Teachers’ Day, President of India Droupadi Murmu extended heartfelt greetings to educators across the nation, acknowledging their vital role in shaping future generations.
In her message, the President paid tribute to former President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is celebrated as Teachers’ Day. She described him as a great author, philosopher, and extraordinary teacher whose legacy continues to inspire.
President Murmu emphasised that teachers, through guidance and mentorship, nurture talent and strengthen character. She noted that dedicated educators can identify students’ unique potential, inspire them, and encourage excellence.
Highlighting the need for innovation, she urged teachers to continually update their knowledge, embrace technology, and adopt modern teaching methods. She stressed the importance of promoting independent thinking and cultivating a spirit of enquiry among students.
Expressing gratitude, the President said she hopes teachers will continue to nurture enlightened generations who will take the nation to greater heights.
