According to government data, till February 15, 2026, Rs 18,100 crore has been transferred to the accounts of 1.81 crore women. Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana is a scheme under which a provision has been made that initially women will be provided assistance of Rs 10,000. By receiving this amount, women can start their own business. The government scheme includes various businesses like tailoring, weaving, agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts as well as other small businesses. According to the Bihar government, earlier Rs 15,600 crore was given to 1 crore 56 lakh women and in February 2026, Rs 2,500 crore has been sent to the accounts of 25 lakh more women.

Under the Chief Minister Mahila Rozgar Yojana, women will first be given Rs 10,000, with which they will have to start their own employment. After this, their employment or business will be examined by the government and its performance will be seen, on the basis of which they will be provided assistance of Rs 2 lakh for their further needs. This amount will be given to women if their employment is good, so that they can take their business further. Women between 18 and 60 years of age can avail the benefits of this scheme, provided that the eligible woman or any other member of her family does not come under the income tax net.
