Digital Desk, Read. There is a devotional atmosphere across the country on Friday on the holy occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. There is a crowd of devotees in the temples since morning regarding the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. Worship, bhajan-kirtan and processions are being organized at various places. The temples are attractively decorated and devotees are arriving to have darshan of Lord Krishna.
PM Modi wished Janmashtami
Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the countrymen on Shri Krishna Janmashtami. He said on the social media platform 'X' that the divine messages of Lord Shri Krishna contain the wonderful inspiration of selfless action, which has been continuously guiding humanity. The Prime Minister wished that this auspicious occasion of Janmashtami infuses positive energy and strength in everyone's life. On this occasion, he also shared the Sanskrit verse 'Vasudevasutman Devan…' dedicated to Lord Krishna.
Dharmendra Pradhan visited Jagannath temple
BJP MP Dharmendra Pradhan visited Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath Temple in Puri on the occasion of Janmashtami. He said that he had the privilege of seeing Mahaprabhu on the auspicious occasion. He prayed to Lord Jagannath and Shri Krishna for the welfare of the countrymen, the world and Odisha. Dharmendra Pradhan said that the country will develop only with the living influence of Sanatan. He described connecting with spirituality as important for the self-development of people.
Janmashtami celebration from Varanasi to Mumbai
Special preparations have been made for Janmashtami in many parts of the country including Varanasi, Patna, Mumbai and Kapurthala in Punjab. There is a steady stream of devotees in the ISKCON temple of Varanasi since morning. Bhajan-kirtan is being organized in the temple premises.
A grand procession was taken out from Shri Satyanarayan Temple in Kapurthala. At the same time, a large number of devotees are also reaching the ISKCON temples of Patna and Mumbai to worship Lord Krishna.
Lord Krishna was born at midnight
According to mythological beliefs, Lord Vishnu was born in the form of Shri Krishna to Devaki and Vasudev at midnight on the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. Due to this belief, every year the festival of Janmashtami is celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm throughout the country.
On the occasion of Janmashtami, tableaux of the child form of Lord Shri Krishna are decorated in temples along with special worship. At midnight, a special aarti and puja is organized to mark the birth of Kanha. Devotees observe a fast and pray to Lord Krishna for happiness, prosperity and welfare of the family.
