Liverpool have been handed encouraging fitness news ahead of Friday night’s meeting with Ipswich Town.

The Reds have received a timely lift after frustration on transfer deadline day.

Big-money summer signing Bradley Barcola has been declared fit and available for selection before tomorrow night’s Premier League clash against Ipswich Town.

Manager Andoni Iraola confirmed that the 24-year-old French winger is in contention to make his competitive debut at Portman Road.

Speaking before the game, Iraola said he was delighted to have brought in the attacker.

"We are very happy with Bradley. It was our priority to sign a very good player in that position. I like the fact he wanted Liverpool a lot. He comes with the willingness to help us. He has trained and will be available for tomorrow."

The positive update arrives after a turbulent finish to Liverpool’s 2026 summer transfer window.

Barcola’s signing adds extra attacking threat to the Reds, but fans were left disappointed by the club’s inability to bring in a central midfielder before the window shut.

After agreeing the sale of Curtis Jones to Inter Milan and seeing late moves for targets such as AS Monaco’s Lamine Camara collapse, Liverpool head into the autumn with very little margin for injuries or suspensions in central midfield.

Barcola’s availability, though, gives Iraola’s forward line an immediate boost in quality and dynamism.

The winger came through Olympique Lyonnais’ famed youth academy before enjoying a breakthrough 2022/23 season, which eventually earned him a €45 million (£38m) transfer to Paris Saint-Germain in August 2023.

Across three seasons in the French capital, the direct forward established himself as an important figure in PSG’s attack.

He won three straight Ligue 1 titles and played a central role in successive UEFA Champions League victories in 2025 and 2026.

Although concerns in midfield remain among the Anfield faithful, Barcola being available gives Iraola a badly needed boost after a winless start to this season’s domestic campaign.
