Manchester United could reignite their interest in Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall next summer, according to a recent report from The Sun. The report stated that the Red Devils may return for the English defender in 2027 after missing out on signing him during the recently concluded summer transfer window.
Hall was in good form for the Tyneside club last season and produced several eye-catching performances down the left side. The 21-year-old found the net once and also registered a couple of assists in 47 appearances for Newcastle across all competitions in the previous campaign.
The English youngster is currently regarded as one of the most talented full-backs in the Premier League. Therefore, it is easy to understand why Manchester United were keen to secure his services earlier this summer.
His existing deal at St. James’ Park runs until the summer of 2029, so it could prove difficult for Man United to land him for a cut-price fee next year.
Hall relishes making tackles and usually judges his challenges well to win possession back for his side inside his own half. He is also capable of clearing his lines when needed and remains a reliable crosser of the ball.
The English talent has plenty of energy and is always willing to get up and down the left flank. Hall mainly operates as a left-back, but he can also fill in as a central midfielder or as a left-sided wide player when required. He already knows the Premier League well and should not need much time to settle in at Man United if they succeed in bringing him in during 2027.
One can expect Hall to add greater quality and squad depth to Michael Carrick’s defence over the long term. He has the ability to challenge Luke Shaw for a regular place in the first team at Old Trafford.
At 21, Hall appears to have a very bright future ahead of him, provided he continues to develop year after year. He would also improve Manchester United’s ability to compete on all fronts in the coming seasons. All things considered, Hall would be an excellent fit for Man United.
