Barnala: Under the direction of Deputy Commissioner (Excise) Firozpur and the leadership of Assistant Commissioner (Excise) Sangrur, the raid was conducted today in Prem Nagar, Barnala as part of the campaign being run by the Excise Department against smuggling of drugs and illicit liquor. A total of 90 boxes of liquor were recovered during the action taken by the Excise Police team and the District Police under the leadership of Excise Inspector Davinder Singh and Excise Inspector Rajesh Kumar.
This liquor was brought for sale in Chandigarh. During the action, accused Ravi Kumar alias Gabbar son of Kamal Kumar and Sonia Rani wife of Ravi Kumar fled from the spot. However, the team also recovered a cruise car, two motorcycles and an Activa from the spot.
