Amazon India Seasonal Jobs : Ahead of the upcoming festive season, Amazon India today announced that it has created over 160,000 seasonal employment opportunities across its network of operations across India supporting its e-commerce and quick commerce business. It includes direct and indirect employment opportunities in more than 400 cities of India, including major metros as well as Varanasi, Kochi, Jalandhar, Ghaziabad, African, Ranchi, Salem, Gorakhpur and other tier II and III cities. The new employees will join Amazon's existing network of operations across India, which will help pick-up, pack, ship and deliver customer orders safely and reliably, supporting increased demand during the festive season. Amazon has already onboarded most of these employees in preparation for the festive season and started providing them with the necessary training.

Through its Samriddhi initiative, Amazon will also help associates joining the company's operations network before the festive season to register on the e-Shram portal and avail other government welfare and social security initiatives.

Amazon India has built a strong fulfillment and delivery network across the country, helping more than 1.7 million sellers to serve customers across the country. The company has fulfillment centers spanning 15 states, providing more than 43 million cubic feet of storage space for sellers' inventory; There are Sortation Centers in 19 states; It also has a network of nearly 2,000 Amazon-operated and partner delivery stations. In addition, there are 28,000 Hub Delivery Associates and thousands of Amazon Flex Partners, ready to deliver to customers across the country.

Benefits available to employees working inside Amazon buildings:
● Industry leading infrastructure and other facilities: Clean drinking water and clean restrooms are available at all Amazon facilities, designed to ensure a safe and comfortable work environment for employees and co-workers. The larger facilities have an air-conditioned cafeteria with ample seating space and facilities like tea, coffee, snack vending machines, microwaves and more.
● Onsite Medical Facilities: Onsite First Aid (AmCare) facilities at fulfillment centers are available for anyone needing immediate first aid or rest. Uncomfortable employees receive bed or rest space, oral hydration, heating pads, and assistance from a qualified nurse. Those requiring further medical treatment are referred to the nearest hospital.
● Work 5 days a week: Employees working at Amazon locations get two days off per week per month. In addition, all employees are entitled to statutory holidays, voluntary holidays, annual leave, sick leave and casual leave as applicable.
● Financial Stability: The Early Access to Pay (EATP) initiative allows eligible employees to withdraw up to 80 percent of their remaining basic salary between the 1st and 20th of every month, thereby promoting greater financial stability.
●Benefits for Delivery Drivers: Amazon recently launched 'Sanman', a comprehensive welfare initiative for thousands of delivery employees across its logistics network. The initiative includes scholarships for the education of employees' children, access to government benefits and financial inclusion initiatives, comprehensive insurance coverage, road safety measures and more.
● Accident and Injury Insurance Cover: All employees and delivery associates working at Amazon locations are covered under Group Mediclaim Insurance and Group Personal Accident Insurance in addition to the minimum statutory requirement of ESIC. Earlier this year, Amazon extended health and insurance benefits to nearly 90,000 delivery workers across its operations network in India.
These benefits provide OPD coverage for routine medical expenses, assistance with hospitalization treatment and compensation for temporary or permanent disability, covering both immediate medical needs and loss of income due to injury. These benefits are offered to employees in all of Amazon's last-mile operations.
● Shelter – Air-conditioned Restrooms: Refuge centers are air-conditioned restrooms for delivery drivers, including those outside the Amazon network, to rest and recuperate while out on a delivery. Amazon plans to expand this network to 250 centers by the end of 2026, expanding its existing network in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai.
The company has also introduced mobile shelter vans, which are air-conditioned mobile rest units parked at high-traffic locations to provide easy access to rest facilities for delivery drivers. The mobile shelter vans are currently operational in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru with plans to expand to more cities this year.
