**Exam originally scheduled for September 6 was postponed**
The CTET exam was initially scheduled to be held on September 6 but was postponed, and the application portal was reopened until September 1.

**When will the exam city slip and admit card be released?**
The city slip and admit card will be released after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announces the exam date. Based on past patterns, the exam city slip is usually released 10 to 15 days before the exam date, while admit cards are issued 4 days before the exam.

**Exam to be conducted in two shifts**
The CBSE conducts the CTET exam in two shifts. The timing for the first shift is from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, while the second shift is scheduled from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
Candidates appearing for the first shift must report to the center 120 minutes in advance—that is, at 7:30 AM—whereas candidates for the second shift must report at 12:30 PM.

**Steps to download the city slip/admit card**
To download the CTET exam city slip or admit card for 2026, visit the official website: ctet.nic.in.
On the website's homepage, click on the relevant link under the 'LATEST NEWS' section.

Enter your application number, date of birth, and the provided security PIN, then click the 'Submit' button.
The city slip or admit card will then appear on the screen; you can download it and take a printout.

**Exam Pattern**
The CBSE has prescribed distinct exam patterns for Paper 1 and Paper 2. In both papers, candidates are required to answer 150 questions for a total of 150 marks. All questions are of the multiple-choice type.
