Celebrity chef Pankaj Bhadouria, winner of MasterChef India Season 1, revealed the hardships she endured during her cancer treatment in August, highlighting the physical and emotional challenges.
She shared that her second chemotherapy session severely affected her health, with repeated infections weakening her body significantly.
Alongside the physical toll, Pankaj struggled with hair loss, describing it as an unexpected shock that took time to accept.
Despite these difficulties, she found moments of joy as friends visited and festivals were celebrated, bringing happiness amid the ordeal.
On social media, she posted a photo from her hospital bed, reflecting on the month: “August turned out to be quite eventful!” she wrote.
She continued, “It started with my second Chemotherapy that hit me really hard. It took a major toll on my health and hair too. Despite all precautions, preventive medicines and care, I was weakened by infections one after the other that took a massive toll on my physical health.”
About hair loss, she added, “Believe me, nothing prepares you for it when it actually hits you. Losing my tresses was a shocker that took time coming to terms.”
Moving on to happier times, she shared, “Then came days that brought joy and happiness- so many friends from far and near visiting me, celebrating festivals. I even snuck in a few sweets!”
She celebrated a milestone by going out to eat with her family after three months, calling it “a step towards recovery.”
“It’s funny how a word like ‘Cancer’ changes your entire life and that of your family around you too,” she reflected, emphasizing that they are learning to live with the illness through love, support, and hope.
Pankaj first made her breast cancer diagnosis public on May 28, 2026, when she posted from her hospital bed seeking prayers and support.
The following day, she underwent surgery and informed fans about the findings of a 2mm invasive HER2-positive component via biopsy, which led to a treatment plan including chemotherapy and targeted therapy.
Before starting chemotherapy, she cut her long hair short to enjoy it while she could, showing her resilience and positivity.
