Desk. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that 12 people were killed in a major airstrike carried out by Russia overnight in Ukraine. An Indian citizen was also involved in this. “In all, 12 people were killed, including an Indian national. Dozens of others were injured in the attack. My condolences to those who have lost their family members and loved ones,” he said in a post on X.
Elaborating on the attacks, he wrote on the social media platform, “Work to deal with the situation after the Russian attack in many cities and regions has been going on since last night. In Kiev and its surroundings alone, about 350 rescue workers are involved in the work. A large number of jet-powered drones and ballistic missiles were used in the attack. Unfortunately, residential buildings and the infrastructure of ordinary citizens have been damaged. In Boryspil, a typical five-story residential building “50 people were evacuated. All essential businesses were also targeted. In total, 4 people were killed and 13 injured.”

Thousands of families are left without electricity and work is underway to bring electricity to people as quickly as possible. Romania border crossings and export infrastructure were deliberately damaged. 7 people died in the attack on the railway depot in Kiev. Kherson, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy and Dnipro regions were also attacked.”
The President of Ukraine accused Russia of carrying out attacks to cause maximum harm to civilians. He said, “Russia always plans attacks that cause maximum loss of life, and it succeeds only when air defense capabilities are weak. I am grateful to all those who are helping Ukraine acquire anti-ballistic capabilities through PURL and bilateral supplies, and it is very important that these supplies are increased. The number of victims of Russian terrorism directly depends on each new package of aid. I thank them all. Who are helping to make Ukraine stronger.”
