Senior Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer Bijaya Kumar Mishra has assumed charge as the Additional General Manager (AGM) of East Coast Railway (ECoR).
A 1991‑batch IRAS officer, Mishra brings over 35 years of experience in railway finance, project management, train operations and administration. He will continue to serve as the Principal Financial Adviser (PFA) of ECoR while discharging his new responsibilities as AGM, overseeing Accounts, Finance, Budget and Internal Audit in one of Indian Railways’ highest revenue‑earning zones.
Mishra has held several key positions, including Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Tinsukia Division under Northeast Frontier Railway, and headed Project Finance for IRCON International Limited in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, supervising major international infrastructure projects.
Academically, he holds a postgraduate degree in Applied Geology from IIT (ISM), Dhanbad, and a Master of Public Policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. He has also undergone advanced training in Financial Management in London and Paris, and Heavy Haul Railway Technology at Beijing Jiaotong University, China.
