Actress Malavika Mohanan has recalled the nerve-racking start to her stint on Sardar 2, revealing that her first day on the film’s sets involved a 100–150 metre free-fall stunt.
Speaking at the audio launch of the upcoming film, Malavika said she was asked to perform the demanding sequence on the very first day of shooting. Although safety ropes were used, the scale of the jump left her frightened.
“It freaked me out on day one of the shoot because my first day of the shoot was a stunt sequence, and I had to jump from, I think, 100-150 meters and it was like a free fall,” she said.
“We had ropes and everything. But it was a massive jump, and I think it’s the scariest first day of shoot I have ever had on any set,” the actress added.
Directed by P. S. Mithran, Sardar 2 also stars Karthi and is positioned as a spy thriller with a socially relevant theme.
Karthi, speaking about the film at the event, highlighted the issue addressed in the story, using the widespread practice of drinking water from plastic bottles as an example. He said the film deals with a truth connected to health that audiences would find difficult to ignore after watching it.
The film is the follow-up to Sardar and continues the franchise with Karthi in the lead. Malavika is part of the cast in the upcoming action-oriented thriller.
Sardar 2 is scheduled to release in theatres on September 10, 2026.
