Actress and fitness enthusiast Bhagyashree has opened up about her experience of becoming a mother at a young age, revealing that both her deliveries were through Caesarean section.
The Maine Pyar Kiya actress shared her experience while discussing postpartum fitness in the latest edition of her #TuesdayTipsWithB series. She demonstrated three exercises designed to strengthen different areas of the abdomen and stressed the importance of gradually returning to exercise after childbirth.
Bhagyashree said that when she became a mother, she was young and unaware that exercise could form part of the recovery process after childbirth. She also recalled being told that a C-section would permanently alter her body, cause her stomach to lose shape and result in weight gain.
“Even after a C-section, you can start working on rebuilding your core and getting it back into shape once you’re ready,” she wrote while sharing the video on Instagram.
In the video, Bhagyashree said both her deliveries were Caesarean and recalled the concerns expressed to her at the time about permanent changes to her body.
She encouraged women who have undergone a C-section to exercise when medically appropriate, adding, “Just ask your doctor when you can start.”
The three exercises featured in the video focus on strengthening and toning the core muscles. Bhagyashree said the routine was particularly aimed at people dealing with weight gain and looking to strengthen their abdominal muscles.
Bhagyashree and her husband Himalaya Dasani have two children, son Abhimanyu Dassani and daughter Avantika Dassani. Both have followed their mother into acting.
Abhimanyu made his Bollywood debut with Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota and received a Filmfare Award for the film. Avantika began her acting career with the web series Mithya.
