Farmers block highway in demand of electricity in Lal Dardu, written assurance of uninterrupted supply for 20 hours

Farmers blocked the অন্বালা-চন্দিগাড় জাতিয়া দার্যাড়া for about an hour, demanding adequate electricity for agricultural motors. The blockade is lifted after Powercom's written assurance of 20 hours of uninterrupted power supply.

Farmers, who were angry over not getting sufficient electricity for their agricultural motors, blocked the Ambala-Chandigarh National Highway for about an hour on Tuesday. This protest took place under the leadership of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugraha. The blockade is lifted after the power authority gives a written assurance of 20 hours of uninterrupted power supply to the farmers.

Due to lack of sufficient electricity for agricultural motors, farmers stopped traffic on Ambala-Chandigarh National Highway for about an hour. Due to the blockade, vehicular movement to and from Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir is disrupted.

During the strike, farmers' protests intensified after they did not receive a satisfactory response from Exxon. After that they blocked the Ambala-Chandigarh National Highway. Traffic on the main road was affected due to the blockade that lasted for about an hour.

Due to the blockade, drivers of vehicles traveling to and from Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir face problems. To control the situation, the police administration started talks with farmer leaders and power authorities.

During the meeting, the power authority gave a written assurance to the farmers that 20 hours of uninterrupted power supply would be ensured for the agricultural motors. After getting assurance, the farmers lifted the blockade from the national road.

The strike under the leadership of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugraha is ended. Farmers said that adequate and regular electricity supply is necessary for agricultural work.
