Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal today officially launched the portal for ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Dian-2026’, Season 4, being organised by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann with the objective of connecting the youth with sports and keeping them away from drugs.
On the occasion, Dr Himanshu Aggarwal said that the Punjab Government is organising ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Dian’ to channelise the energy of the youth in the right direction and further strengthen the sports culture in the state. He said that sports not only promote physical fitness but also inculcate discipline, team spirit and a sense of brotherhood.
The Deputy Commissioner said that block-level tournaments will be organised in the 10 designated blocks of Patiala district from September 7 to September 16, 2026. He appealed to players, youth and residents of the district to participate in large numbers and register themselves through the sports portal.
Dr Himanshu Aggarwal said that from September 7 to 9, 2026, tournaments of Patiala Rural Block will be held at Physical College, those of Patiala Urban Block at Polo Ground, Nabha Block at Government Ripudaman College and Rajpura Block at Government Stadium, Rajpura. Similarly, from September 10 to 12, 2026, tournaments of Ghanaur Block will be held at University College, those of Sanaur Block at Shaheed Udham Singh Stadium and Shambhu Kalan Block at Chief Minister Sports Ground, village Dhakansu.
He further said that from September 14 to 16, 2026, tournaments of Samana Block will be held at Public College, Samana, those of Patran Block at Chief Minister Sports Ground, village Dedhna, and Bhunerheri Block at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Fatehpur. The Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration and the Sports Department are making all necessary arrangements for the smooth and successful conduct of the tournaments.
He appealed to the youth to make sports an integral part of their daily lives and contribute towards building a healthy and drug-free Punjab. District Sports Officer Navjot Singh Dhaliwal was also present on the occasion.
